ABOUT JEREMY

I'm Jeremy. Therapy doesn't require you to have it all figured out.

Whatever brings you here, you're welcome to arrive exactly as you are — uncertain, overwhelmed, curious, hopeful, or somewhere in between. Together we will create space to explore what's happening in your life and what might help you move forward.

My story

I've wanted to be a counsellor and psychotherapist since I was 18 years old. Even then, I found myself drawn to listening deeply to people—their stories, struggles, joys, and the parts of themselves they rarely shared with others.

Now at 36, my own journey has included many years of personal therapy, where I experienced the power of being truly heard and witnessed. Therapy helped me develop a deeper understanding of myself, uncover experiences that had been outside my awareness, and relate differently to both pain and possibility. These experiences continue to shape the way I work today.

Alongside my private practice, I've worked across various community services over a 10 year period, including youth homelessness, sexual health and the HIV sector. As a queer gay man, I also understand some of the unique challenges that can accompany questions of identity, belonging, self-acceptance, shame, and living authentically in a world that doesn't always make that easy.

Outside the therapy room, contemplative practice is an important part of my life. I am part of an Ashram community grounded in meditation, yoga, and a living spiritual tradition. This community invites ongoing reflection on some of life's deeper questions—meaning, transformation, suffering, connection, and what it means to live with greater awareness.

Whether you're seeking support through a difficult period, exploring questions of identity, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, you're welcome to arrive exactly as you are.

What matters most to me is the relationship itself: a space where you feel safe enough to be real, and met closely enough that something can begin to move.

My approach

I believe that meaningful change begins with awareness.

Rather than focusing on fixing, diagnosing, or trying to get rid of difficult experiences, I work collaboratively with you to understand them. Together we explore the thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, relationships, and patterns that shape your experience of yourself and the world.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through both awareness and relational connection. I draw from person-centred therapy, Gestalt psychotherapy, emotion-focused therapy, somatic approaches, TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process), mindfulness practices, and Resource Therapy, a parts-based approach.

Gestalt therapy has particularly influenced the way I work. Rather than analysing your experience from a distance, Gestalt invites us to pay attention to what is happening in the present moment—what you're noticing, feeling, sensing, and experiencing right now. Often, it is through this awareness that new possibilities emerge.

In our work together, we may explore protective parts that have developed over time, emotional wounds that continue to shape the present, relationship patterns, or aspects of yourself that have never had the opportunity to be fully seen and understood. My role is not to tell you who you are, but to support you in discovering a deeper understanding of yourself.

At the heart of my work is the belief that awareness, relationship, and self-understanding create the conditions for meaningful and lasting change.
